He speaks to the significance of the massive protests to the privatization of social services and lack of middle class jobs in Israel, the lack of will on the part of Israeli administrations, Netanyahu’s particularly, to resolve the conflict, and paints a picture of what life could be like there if peace were achieved.

An interview with Nassir Arruri, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of New Hampshire, on the occasion of the Israeli attack on Gaza. Professor Arruri was born in Jerusalem, and was 14 in 1948. He served for a time as a member of the PLO national committee. He introduces the idea of politicide as an interpretation of the strategy of the Israeli state throughout the history of the Israeli Palestinian conflict, and argues that there has never been any real interest in a two state solution, or indeed any solution. He discusses the relation of Israel with the US and suggest that it is as a cop on the beat in the middle east for the US empire.
